How to ramp up post-holiday bookings

Stressed about filling your appointment book after the holidays? With clients away on vacation, or simply in recovery from festive over-spending, the ‘quiet’ season has become notorious with salon and spa owners everywhere. But the good news is that by getting organized and focusing on re-booking now with these few quick ideas, you can save yourself the stress and kick-start 2014 on a busy note – imagine that!
- Encourage your staff. Providing a special internal promotion or incentive to your staff to rebook their clients in January is a great motivational tool. Why not offer to increase their commissions for the month, a gift card or the reward of any product from a particular line if they increase re-bookings by 5% in a week?
- Utilize Shortcuts Client Marketing features. Why not search your Shortcuts database and find out which clients will be due for an appointment in January? By following them up with the promise of securing them an appointment that suits their holiday plans, you can fill out your schedule while also offering them a higher standard of personal service.
- Get creative with client notes. Your client notes are a goldmine of potential angles to attract them back in to your business, and the small amount of time it takes to review these can make a huge difference to your bottom line. For example if you have a client you know is going on a holiday, you could invite them to book in for a nourishing hair treatment or facial in January to combat the drying effects of long-haul travel.
- Reconnect with past clients. Now is the perfect time to think about reconnecting with inactive clients by offering an incentive for them to come back in to the salon. Consider a quick-response SMS or email marketing campaign offering them a special discount or promotion so exciting they won’t be able to resist booking their next appointment.
