Will my customers be contacted by mylocalsalon™?

When you sign up to mylocalsalon™ and accept the Terms and Conditions as part of participating in the site, you give permission for Shortcuts mylocalsalon™ to contact clients who have recently had a service at your business, for the purpose of reviewing your business.

Our automated system sends out an email which asks your clients to rate their experience with you on five criteria, and also gives them the option to leave a comment. mylocalsalon™ will only ever contact your clients on your behalf as outlined above, unless they have signed up for the mylocalsalon™ specials communications, in which case they will be emailed directly.

How secure is my data?

The Shortcuts online booking system is extremely secure. Security certificates are in place to protect spas and salons, and their clients’ data. The connection between Shortcuts’ online booking server and the salon’s database is protected by an SSL certificate. This is the same security measures used in online banking applications.

How are ratings collected?

When a transaction is completed at the point of sale, mylocalsalon™ automatically contacts the client and asks them to complete a short five-question survey (with the option to write an additional review comment).

Who receives the request for ratings email or SMS?

The request for ratings are initially sent to all clients who have visited a salon in the last 12 weeks. This initial blast fast tracks the population of ratings, and they are published to your profile page. On an ongoing basis, a request for ratings email is sent to each client after they visit your business.

If there is a negative comment and I know it isn’t genuine can I have it removed?

Yes, a comment can be removed. To help you put your best foot forward while still maintaining the integrity of the directory, Shortcuts gives you the option to remove up to three reviews every 6 months.
