Movember is more than just the perfect excuse for every bloke you know to start growing a ‘stache. Men and women all over the world are jumping on board this annual event to do their bit to help change the face of men’s health.
Participating in Movember is not just an awesome opportunity for your business to give back, and help tackle the often-stigmatised topics of prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.
It’s also a pretty cool way to get your clients more involved in what’s going on behind the scenes in your business, and to help inspire your team and get everyone together for a bit of good old fashioned fun.
Whether you’re a barber offering free grooming for Movember participants, or a salon taking cash donations, there are so many fun ways to raise awareness for this worthy cause and make a real difference.
After all, when it comes to facial hair, the crazier the better!
Your shout
The best ideas always seem to come from the most unexpected places, and we’re pretty sure your Movember campaign will be no exception. Why not shout the team lunch, hold an epic brainstorming session and throw some ideas around. (Just call it a team building exercise, right?)
‘Stache of the week
Try promoting a different ‘stache style each week. Week one could be the Hulk Hogan, week two the Mexican Fiesta, week three the Charlie Chaplain… Here’s some inspo if you need it:
Mo promos
If you offer male grooming services, why not run a promo just for Movember? You could donate a percentage of each beard or moustache trim to charity, or offer free facial hair styling with every cut for clients who donate to your Movember cause.
#movember
Movember is to social media what wax is to a perfectly-sculpted handlebar moustache. There really is no better match! Decide on a hashtag for your #movember campaign and use it across Facebook, Instagram or whenever you share all your Movember-related content.
May the best mo win
Who has the finest mo of them all? Run a competition showcasing your clients’ most fabulous and noteworthy moustaches, share their photos on social media, and let your followers decide the winner. The mo with the most likes, comments or shares wins a fabulous prize (ask your product companies if they will donate one).
Suits you bro
If there was ever a time to go overboard with before and after shots, Movember is it! Seriously though, who doesn’t love a good before and after shot. If you want your posts to really stand out on social, try creating videos instead of your standard photos, using a tool like Boomerang.
At Shortcuts, we’re aiming to raise $5000 to help change the face of men’s health. To donate to the Shorties Mo Bros, click here.
